Front & Back Garden Design Project Overview
For this project, the Taming Mother Nature team spent three months at a property in Reigate renovating the front and back gardens. This project focused on a new garden design for the landscapes, as well as regrading the spaces for better access and functionality.
This extensive project relied on a combination of hard and soft landscaping, including paving, retaining walls, and planting.
Back Garden Design & Regrade
Height adjustment was required in the back garden, which was done through a full regrade and construction of retaining walls. These walls, built in Indian sandstone with a Z Clad finish, created terraced sections within the garden design which could be used for separate purposes.
Additional Indian Sandstone was used in a circle kit to give a courtyard feel to the terrace, and Cotswold gravel was used in other areas for a traditional garden design aesthetic.
To create a functional environment that could be used for relaxing, hosting, and entertaining, we designed and installed a bespoke pergola which provides shade and structure to the overall garden design.
Planting Design
We provided a complete planting scheme for the back garden, including turfing and specimen trees. Our team designed and built raised sleeper beds to add height to the garden and make planting easier to maintain, and planted hedges to make the garden feel secluded and private.
Our bespoke planting design includes Silver Birch, Liquid Ambar, Beech, and Cottinus trees for a diverse visual effect and screening.
Front Garden Re-Design & Grading
As well as the back garden design, we also renovated the front garden to give the property a complete makeover. The front garden also needed to be regraded to give better access to the front door and driveway.
The same style retaining walls, with Z Cladding, were used in the front garden design for a cohesive appearance across the property. Indian Sandstone paving was also installed for a clean, traditional appearance that complements the home’s style well.
Finally, to soften the edges of the hard landscaping and create an attractive garden design, we developed another bespoke planting plan specifically for the front garden. The home now has two stunning landscapes that are accessible, functional, and full of beauty.
